Dear HRCU Member,

I hope you’re aware the team at HRCU constantly works to enhance our relationship with you by always providing personable service and high-quality financial products and services at little or no cost.

However, sometimes it becomes necessary to make choices that may potentially impact that relationship with some members. Sadly, this announcement is one of those times.

Effective May 1, 2022, the Frackville branch located at 538 Altamont Boulevard will close.

Understandably, this decision may be disappointing to some as it will impact members who currently utilize the Frackville branch. The decision to close was not an easy one, but one required as it best fits the credit union’s strategic vision in response to the following:

  • Property Lease – HRCU does not own the branch building and the current lease agreement expires in the coming months. An offer to purchase the branch property was presented, but a suitable agreement of sale could not be reached. An additional long-term lease commitment was not beneficial under current conditions.
  • Business Viability – Despite on-going efforts, the branch location does not provide the business viability necessary to maintain and expand member servicing opportunities. The issue was complicated further by rising operational costs and extended branch closures during the pandemic.
  • Alternate Opportunities – HRCU remains committed to providing more and better service availability options for all members and continues efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement suitable branch locations, like the new Pine Grove branch for example. Other member servicing channels are also being developed.

The normal branch schedule and service availability will continue until closing. There will be no service interruptions and full account access is available via the FREE Out-Reach 24/7 Audio, Online, and Mobile application. These easy-to-use applications allow account access and ability to conduct transactions from anywhere. Three additional branch locations and the ATM network also remain available within the county, and the new Pine Grove branch anticipated to open later this year.

Finally, I wish to apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause some members. HRCU continues to value your business and remains dedicated to serving the financial needs of members and their families. If you have any questions, please contact the credit union at the number above, or online.
