Collector

Pottsville, PA

Full-Time Position

The Collector will be responsible for all daily activities, responsibilities, and operations associated with the credit union’s collection process.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner in all member interactions.
  • Manage loan delinquencies using Episys reports.  Determines reasons for default, communicates with members, and takes appropriate actions to correct or bring loan current.
  • Recommends actions for delinquencies, including loan remodification, repossession, charging off account, sending to third party collection agency, or attorney.
  • Sends out all delinquent notices and follows up with phone calls and emails.
  • Responds to all collection-related questions from branch staff.
  • Maintains detailed records of all collection activity, including detailed documentation in Episys.
  • Prepares monthly collection-related reports.
  • Manages all member bankruptcy claims, including filing paperwork, attending hearings, and all necessary follow up.
  • Files judgements and civil complaints and performs follow-up activities as necessary.
  • Works with repossession agencies.
  • Works with collection agencies in the collection of loans.
  • Works with the credit union attorney as part of the collections process.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all related policies, procedures, rules, and regulations applicable for the position, and keeps abreast of any changes.
  • Evaluates current collection policies and practices; recommends changes to VP of Lending.
  • Coordinate, centralize, administer, and report Collector activities for efficiency and management purposes.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills/Abilities:

  • Work related experience should include 1 or more years of broad credit union operational knowledge and experience.  Experiences to include member service operations, problem solving and researching abilities, the understanding of basic financial information, and work experience within a team environment to achieve organizational goals.
  • Analytical skills and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Time management skills and the ability to multitask and manage projects.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and can display a high degree of initiative and self-motivation is critical to the position.
  • The position will require additional specialized training and educational experiences as a job requirement.

Internal Audit/Compliance Specialist

Pottsville, PA

Full-Time Position

The Internal Audit/Compliance Specialist is responsible for performing credit union compliance and audit functions. This includes ensuring compliance with established credit union policies and procedures, and all regulatory compliance laws, rules, and regulations, as well as some internal audit functions.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes and evaluates new and current regulations that directly affect the Credit Union’s operations and risk management programs. Develops and revises current policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ensures affected operational departments and individuals are informed and kept up to date on new and changing laws affecting policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the credit union’s risk management, compliance, and internal audit programs and performs reviews of each.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports compliance and audit findings.
  • Works with examiners/auditors during regulatory exams and other outside auditors.
  • Performs and monitors daily reporting and filing of CTRs and SAR’s.
  • Performs vendor management duties and maintains and monitors the credit union’s vendor relationships.
  • Performs and monitors OFAC checks and reports and manages fraudulent transaction activity.
  • Evaluates and conducts risk assessment functions with management as part of the risk management program.
  • Conducts FINCEN program duties and maintains record keeping.
  • Prepares periodic reports to senior management concerning regulatory and risk management program.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete required certification/training & education.

 

Required Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years’ work experience in compliance, risk management, or internal auditing functions within a credit union or financial institution preferred. Will train and provide related job training to the right individual.

Member Service Representative

Multiple Locations

Part-Time Positions

Salary: From $13/hr

A Member Service Representative is responsible for receiving and processing deposits, checks, payments, and other financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills/Abilities:

  • Must display a positive attitude, excellent communications skills, and member service abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) required.
  • Prior work experience is preferred, but not required.

 

Individual Schedules: Flexible, but may include up to 32 hours per week, as well as alternating 4 hour Saturday shifts.
